News-
 The slingshot radical organizer is coming soon! If you would like to reserve one in order for us to get an idea of how many to order, please do so within the next two weeks.  check out the website for sizeshttp://slingshot.tao.ca/organizer.php We distribute them at the Firefly Lending Library and they should be in by November.


October 10th- Come out to the Park with us. 3-6p.m main event. Kickball at 5p.m
 Margaret Pace Park is east of Biscayne and between  Ne 17th and 20th st.  ( on the other side of the Smoothie King)
 It is beautiful and it overlooks Biscayne bay.  1745 North Bayshore Drive
Bring your friends, dogs, food, games, balls, music and enjoy being outside in some good weather.

October 21st- From the Depths Show with Merkit and the Mysterious Rabbit puppet army
starts 6:30pm. 5 bucks.

Punk rock yard sale


Punk rock yard sale- Saturday September 19th from  3-7pm. potluck dinner at 6p.m Come at 2p.m to set up if you want to bring anything to trade or if you would like to teach a quick skill share or workshop. ( ideas-- sewing, simple bike repairs, juggling, etc)

August Updates


Here is a quick update to the August calendar of events-


The Bike Collective-
After our meeting it was decided that Sundays (4-7p.m )
would work out better as a work day for more accessibility. We will not be open Thursday anymore. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone, but if you really need to get in this Thursday the 12th please email me at sleeperspeaks@riseup.net and we can work something out.


Miami Newsletter
A couple of people have mentioned wanting to start up a d.i.y newsletter about Miami music, events, politics, etc. If you are interested in attending and or contributing...  the first meet-up will be August 25th at the firefly library 6p.m For more information contact us or juan- sucioso@gmail.com


Punk Rock Yard Sale-
Heads up for the 4th Punk Rock Yard Sale in late September-
If you want to host a workshop /teach a skillshare-- (d.i.y bike repair, tattoos, pickles, wine, etc)
or help in any way.. let us know.

A message from the collective....

Thanks to all the volunteers, Bands, and bike collective members who made this fundraiser a success! We raised a good amount and will be purchasing a tool set. We accept donations on a regular basis, to donate please email sleeperspeaks@riseup.net. The bike collective will be open this thursday from 4-7. Then there will be a meeting to discuss possible work day change. If you would like to be a part of the bike collective please come to the meeting at 7. The meeting is August 6 and should run about an hour. Thanks again to all who made the event possible!

Lending Library Hours

The Firefly is located at 219 NE 20th St. Miami, Fl. The Lending Library is open Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-7p.m and Saturdays (by appointment) 2-6p.m

Burnt Wings

A decent attempt at community is hard to fathom, considering the elite won't have us and the confused don't know where to start. We can provide no answers, but hopefully a connection. Life shaking hands with hope. Not for anyone in particular, but for all those who seek. To create, to believe, to listen and be listened to. most importantly, to do it yourself.
